The South Georgia Heritage Trust (SGHT) seeks to redress the damage done to the island’s environment in the past, and to protect its future. The aim of our groundbreaking Habitat Restoration Project was to save native birds from extinction and increase by millions the numbers of endangered seabirds on South Georgia. Biosecurity and engagement with the worldwide ‘Island Invasives’ community is vital to guard against the ever-present threat of invasive species.
