Trustees
A board of International Trustees, independent of all Government agencies, direct the Trust. Trust funds are used in pursuit of the Trust's purposes.
Trustees include UK, Norwegian, Swedish, and United States citizens. Trustees take advice from other important international institutions that have expertise and an interest in South Georgia. The Trust is registered as a charity in Scotland with branches in Norway and the USA.
The nine trustees are:
- Prof Basberg, Norway, Economic Historian - Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.
- Ms Cheek, Falkland Islands - prominent Falklands business woman brought up on South Georgia.
- Prof Croxall, England, Scientist - British Antarctic Survey.
- Dr Moore, USA, Marine Biologist - Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
- Prof Munro, Scotland, former Director of Royal Scottish Geographical Society and honorary professor of University of Dundee.
- Mr Robert Napier, former CEO of WWF UK and Redland PLC. Chaiman of Met Office board.
- Dr Paulsen, Sweden, Industrialist - Ferring Holding SA.
- Howard Pearce C.V.O, England - former Commissioner of South Georgia.
- Dr Mike Richardson, former Head of the Polar Regions Unit, Foreign Commonwealth Office.
